IF YOU WANT TO USE THE WORDS
FOR ANY REASON
TALK TO ME

MONOLOG

serves me right

well, it serves me right (why fear the tightrope when the universe will always knock us off anyway and the fall can be so much fun, just to maintain balance and integrity and all that jazz)... what do I mean, you might ask... well, next up in my inspirational wandering this morning was Annie (I'll have to show her how to make a link one of these days) and sure enough, as I'm teasing one person about the last entry she inspired here, I'm being teased about other entries elsewhere... oh what a tangled web we weave and we don't even try to deceive... laughter (or madness, or both) must surely follow (for anyone who's heart is not hollow)...

and just to balance the teasing (and the occasional words not allowed on television that might pop up here now and then), the next entry will be purely edcational... no, not sex education, for those of you who already know my sense of humor... I'm serious... a real live educational entry... only teasing too...

but first, a little tribute to another member of my online family... not just so she's not jealous of Neb (who's tongue is sticking out?), but cuz the heart knows (and cuz she's remembering the fun of using literary names can be even more fun than the confusion of forgetting who's who... oh, dear, how to be serious when I am in such a giddy teasing mood... well, it's all her fault, this is what praise does to me sometimes)...

but I don't wanna suffer today, momma
I want to go out and play
and the child inside looks up with a smile
that you just can't resist (for a little while)

so you put aside the serious lessons
and you smile back as you say
let's go outside and discover
the wonders of today

and the newspapers scream blood bath
and the anchorman talks of war
but you're outside with your precious child
so you remember what life is for

and the homeless hold out hopelessness
and you put some food in their hands
cuz you're outside with your inner child
so you remember love is what the heart understands

and the worriers and warlords
know it's time to pass you by
cuz you're outside with your wonder, child
and nothing can touch that high

and we're thankful for our wonder
and we're thankful for our friends
and we're thankful for our family
and the love that never ends

and as evening comes to tell us
as the sun set blurs our eyes
as the beauty that surrounds us
conquers a world of lies

and we carry them so gently
and we slide them into beds
and we bless our precious children
sleeping soundly in our heads

cuz we made it through another day
and we can sleep well tonight
as the child inside closes our eyes
and we can rest (until morning light)

so put aside the serious lessons
as you find your smile and say
goodnight my little child inside
tomorrow is another day

For Annie and Bridget
(and the child inside us all)

NOTE: Due to excessive comment SPAM, comments have been turned off... ironically, this month is the renewal for supergold membership and the comments feature... bad timing... you know how much I love feedback, so maybe there's be comments again one of these days... until then, please leave a note... thanks J

I love you all for coming... for reading all these words
for every click feels like more love (I know that sounds absurd)
if I could only tell you... one thing more tonight
I'd say
I wish you could come home with me and be my friends for life
